It's Just Plain · Thursday August 20, 2009 by Bryan
Alright, so time to bring yalls up to date with my life, because frankly, that’s why you’re here, and that’s why I’m writing.
It’s been up and down for me; work has been busy, weekends have been busy socially and I keep giving myself tiny little projects that end up taking the rest of my free time. My video game website and Jason take up the rest of my time. Thankfully, we’ve always managed to squeeze in couch and TV time to watch our all of our “shows”.
Jason didn’t find much in the way of a summer job so that’s been a little rough and probably will get much worse when his job search starts in the fall. After seeing some of his grad school friends go through the hiring process, I imagine it’s like being naked with a number on your forehead hoping some department chair will pick you. My fear is that he finds a job somewhere I wouldn’t really want to be (like anywhere in the middle of America). I’ve had a really good time here in Boston and I wouldn’t trade some of the great fun I’ve had over the years, though I feel like I’m still up for new adventures. Sometime this year, I could be in a totally new place!
I'm now Mr. Dr. · Thursday June 25, 2009 by Bryan
Right, so I have been cooking, and even taking pictures. It’s the part where I combine the pictures, with words to make a blog post. So when my free time loosens itself from my life, I shall post away with all the food I’ve been making.
In other news, Jason is now a PhD! I even attended his defense; a weird culmination of almost 9 years of work into 2 hours. He doesn’t graduate until December, but feel free to congratulate him on a job well done!
I shall bask in his doctoral light in the mean time.
Meals by Bryan · Wednesday May 13, 2009 by Bryan
So I have a friend coming up this summer for an internship. He’s on a strict budget because it’s unpaid, so I suggested we do some meal planning for the week. I sort of modified the idea I saw on Serious Eats where one of the bloggers cooks with a friend. I even created a new tag called ‘Weekly Cooking’, so if you want to follow along, just click on the tag.
My goal is $15 per person, for 2 meals per day for 5 days. In all, it’ll be 3 people for 30 meals at a budget of $45. Am I crazy? Stay tuned…

I think I smooshed any kind of cool style this website once had, so it’s back to the drawing board for a new design.
On a further note, lots of hard work on my video game blog, nomorelives and I’m now twittering.

So I’ve decided that this website is in bad need of a redesign. Also, I’ve decided that I want to food blog. I mean, I cook and go out to eat enough that warrants this sort of thing. Hopefully, it’ll help me with my plating skills since, they’re kinda in the tank right now.
So yeah, see you on the flip side?
Launch!!! · Saturday March 14, 2009 by Bryan
So I finally got off my ass and launched our new website, No More Lives. It’s a video game website where we will talk about the more interesting aspects of video games and the culture. If you know somebody who would enjoy it, send along the link!
Pity on the Poor Paper Boy · Friday March 13, 2009 by Bryan
Is it awful that I only know Richard Harris for Macarthur Park (one of my favorite songs) and Dumbledore? I mean, it looks like the guy did an awful lot of quite wonderful things.
