Check out this New York Times guide for when it’s a good time to buy and when it’s a good time to rent.
As a potentially first time home buyer, this is a very good question as the Boston market seems to me a ticking time bomb where people could lose a lot of money.

“a ticking time bomb where people could lose a lot of money” is what’s happening to me right now. I’ve put my house up for sale and am seeing reduced asking prices cut again and again as the glut of foreclosed houses hits the market. It’s depressing and really brutal to live through.
