I must admit that I like buying CDs. The shiny silver things that you put into a “CD Player”. I like the little book you get with them. I like the album art work. I like the designs on the CD itself. When you buy it as a digital download, you can’t tear open the plastic and sniff the manufacturing glue and other miscellaneous chemicals. There are a ton of downsides that I don’t mind overlooking such as the environmental impact or the physical space it takes up. Am I a traditionalist or stubborn? Am I that old that I fear the new digital download?
There’s a great new album that I desperately want, maybe you’ve heard of it?
For some inexplicable reason, they only have the digital version in America, while the UK (in it’s ever increasing coolness) gets the smellicious CD version. This has happened before with another band I loved.
I hope I don’t become that old guy clinging to his CDs that all the kids think are ridiculously oversized.
