Alright, so time to bring yalls up to date with my life, because frankly, that’s why you’re here, and that’s why I’m writing.
It’s been up and down for me; work has been busy, weekends have been busy socially and I keep giving myself tiny little projects that end up taking the rest of my free time. My video game website and Jason take up the rest of my time. Thankfully, we’ve always managed to squeeze in couch and TV time to watch our all of our “shows”.
Jason didn’t find much in the way of a summer job so that’s been a little rough and probably will get much worse when his job search starts in the fall. After seeing some of his grad school friends go through the hiring process, I imagine it’s like being naked with a number on your forehead hoping some department chair will pick you. My fear is that he finds a job somewhere I wouldn’t really want to be (like anywhere in the middle of America). I’ve had a really good time here in Boston and I wouldn’t trade some of the great fun I’ve had over the years, though I feel like I’m still up for new adventures. Sometime this year, I could be in a totally new place!

Right, so I have been cooking, and even taking pictures. It’s the part where I combine the pictures, with words to make a blog post. So when my free time loosens itself from my life, I shall post away with all the food I’ve been making.
In other news, Jason is now a PhD! I even attended his defense; a weird culmination of almost 9 years of work into 2 hours. He doesn’t graduate until December, but feel free to congratulate him on a job well done!
I shall bask in his doctoral light in the mean time.

So I’ve decided that this website is in bad need of a redesign. Also, I’ve decided that I want to food blog. I mean, I cook and go out to eat enough that warrants this sort of thing. Hopefully, it’ll help me with my plating skills since, they’re kinda in the tank right now.

I totally had a nice dream (don’t remember what) and then it became infested with black widows and i touched one and it exploded. And then I got really upset.

- Why do birds suddenly appear every time you’re near? I’d think that would get awfully messy. I mean, I understand that they long to be close to you, but are you sure you don’t have bird seed in your pocket?
- I finally figured out what defines Cantonese food: boring slow cooked food. Apparently, appreciators of fine Cantonese food are being replaced by hip connoisseurs who favor the spicy flavors of Szechuan or the upscale nature of Shanghainese cuisine.
- Speaking of, whatever happened to the ‘white casseroles’ of the Midwest? Tuna casserole was practically the staple 10-15 years ago.

- Filet-o-Fish Sandwiches do not keep very long.
- Twitter has made me feel disconnected with my generation; a vow I hoped to keep until I was at least 50 years old.
- I feel good about eating salad; I feel bad about slathering my salad with thousand island dressing, but just enough so I don’t feel worse than eating the salad in the first place.
- My brother forgot to call me when his wife gave birth to his daughter this past weekend.
- I’m starting a new website, but I’m procrastinating because I feel like it’s going to fail like the other 4.
