It Keeps Spiders In Her Pockets · Jul 22, 11:16 AM by Bryan

Yay, Happy Birthday to me! What better way to crawl out from my blogging rock than on my birthday?

So what has happened in the past 70 days? Most of May was work stuff and also my nephew turned 1. I was bummed I missed his birthday, but we’ll be seeing him this fall. Apparently he’s all big now and starting to talk.

June was actually pretty quiet; other than going to Jason’s parents for father’s day, it was pretty unremarkable. The end of June was also marked by mine (and Jason’s) return to Diablo 2. Which pretty much leads us up to now. I do believe 4th of July was in the middle of all that clicking. We ended up going to Marion for the 4th (actually the 3rd) to watch fireworks at buzzard’s bay.

Waiting for the Darkness

This weekend we’re headed to New York City for a wedding. I’ve been craving all kinds of real Japanese food like okonomiyaki, takoyaki and real ramen (not the 59ยข stuff you get) so I’ve been lining up restaurants to binge at. Hopefully I’ll have enough time to hit them all and maybe even pick up some soup buns.

I’ve also uploaded some more pictures to my flickr, so check those out. Till next time!

Try Actualizing 'En Fuego' · May 14, 03:21 PM by Bryan

You and I both know how awful I am at keeping up with my blog, so this story was from over two weeks ago…

We had a little excitement going on at our humble abode. For a while, our cat was intensely infatuated with our fireplace. After a week or so, we started hearing chirping and thought a bird had build a nest in our chimney. So we alerted the landlord to investigate. Being our ever adventurous landlord, shoved his hand into our chimney and discovered these:

Five cute baby raccoons! Fortunately I wasn’t home as I’m usually the worst person when it comes to animals. Oddly enough, when we called animal control, they say that they “don’t do wildlife.” So after some searching, we thankfully found some lady in the middle of nowhere (New Salem, MA to be exact) who takes in wildlife. I say thankfully because everybody else we talked to recommended we either leave them outside (to probably die) or kill them (the state requires drowning!). So we trekked all the way out there to drop off the little baby raccoons so they can hopefully have a better life than dead in a trash can.

Does anybody listen to Mike FM? They play a ton of random songs and I love it. Two have recently piqued my interest:

“Patrick Hernandez – Born to Be Alive”

“The Babys – Everytime I Think of You”

It's Like Somebody Peed On My Cookie · Apr 1, 12:05 PM by Bryan

I really hate April Fools Day. I have this incredible feeling like I’m going to die of humiliation by pranksters. Plus, I have my one eyebrow raised all day in suspicion. My forehead is so sore by the end of the day. Everything about today is questionable; Is that news article fake? Is that person calling me joking with me? Is this email legit?

I’d rather call this day “Bryan’s Anxiety Attack Day”. And yes, I do have a sense of humor. Somewhere.

I Call Shenanigans! · Mar 28, 04:32 PM by Bryan

And… I’m still here.

Things have been only slightly more exciting than before. We’ve had a couple car issues in the past month. It was a little rocky with those unexpected expenses, but thankfully all the troubles seems so far away. We also went to see Jason’s friend’s new baby a couple weeks ago.

Isn’t he super cute?

There isn’t much upcoming events; we have a wedding in April and at the end of May. We’re possibly trekking to Baltimore at the beginning of May, but I don’t know if that’s going to materialize.

Speaking of weddings, I was totally “and guest“ed! The wedding is for Jason’s cousin’s wedding and she had the gall to “and guest” me! Jason still says it’s tradition, but she totally knows my name and should have rightfully placed it next to Jason’s. I’m starting to get over it, but I’m totally giving her the evil eye the next time I see her.

P.S. I’ve been getting some very hilarious spam, posted below word for word. Anybody else seeing this level of hilarity in their inbox?

Those Marys have Typhoid! · Feb 28, 04:31 PM by Bryan

It’s finally safe to say that Jason and I have emerged from the flu unscathed. I had to take two weeks off, Jason was immobile for a week. Life is ramping up back to normal as our energy comes back.

Same old things are going on; I’m working, Jason is still dissertating. Maybe as we move closer towards Jason’s graduation date, things will become more interesting…
